🕰️ The Project History

Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + H opens the History window. It's your safety net for recent mistakes: a clickable log of what you just did in the project, with the ability to jump back several actions at once.

🔺 History is not a separate mechanism from Cmd/Ctrl + Z. It's the same action stack, displayed as a list: Undo/Redo moves one step at a time with each key press, while the History window lets you click directly on the step you want and jump several steps in a single click.

🧩 What one entry covers

One entry corresponds to one action taken in the project: adding, moving, or deleting a block, editing a dialogue, creating a connection, renaming a variable, changing a label, and so on. The coverage is broad: it isn't limited to the graph, it also tracks variables, labels, menus, translations and project settings.

Some grouped actions count as a single entry. For example, deleting a selection that contains several blocks, groups and connections at the same time only creates one line in the history: restoring it undoes the whole batch at once, not block by block.

Each line shows the time the action took place and the type of action performed.

⏱️ When a new entry appears

An entry is created immediately after every reversible action — not on a regular interval, and not when you save (Cmd/Ctrl + S). Saving your project does not clear the history: you can still undo actions made before a save, as long as the project window stays open.

↩️ Restoring an earlier version

In the window, past actions are listed with a switch turned on; actions that have already been undone (if you went back) appear below, greyed out, with the switch turned off. Click a line to:

• jump straight to the state right before that action, if it's part of the past;
• or redo forward up to that action, if it's part of the future (the actions you already undid).

No need to press Cmd/Ctrl + Z once per step: a single click jumps directly to the right point.

⚠️ What you lose when you restore

Going back does not delete anything by default: as long as you make no new change, the undone actions stay available in the lower part of the window and can be redone at any time.

🔺 However, the moment you make a new action after going back, every action that had been undone is permanently lost, with no confirmation and no way to get it back afterwards.

🔺 History only lives in your current working session: it is not sent to or kept on the server. Closing the project clears the list entirely. It is therefore not a long-term versioning system: it covers your recent actions in the current session, not the project's full history since its creation.
